Welcome to Angeline Bakes - the blog!

Hey Friends!

I started my baking journey when I was eleven, after becoming completely obsessed with Cake Boss. I decided to take it upon myself to recreate everything Buddy the Baker made. Much to my disappointment, my rice crispy treat formation skills were not at the level of a professional chef. That didn't stop me from trying, though, and here I am 15 years later! No, I haven't made any life-size car cakes, but I have successfully crafted wedding cakes, perfected delicate pastries, and mastered the art of banana bread.

Baking has always been a beloved hobby of mine, providing an escape from the troubles of everyday life. Now, for the first time in ten years, I find myself without a job. While I could let the giant void of the unknown swallow me whole, I've decided to turn this into an opportunity to finally do something I've been saying I would do forever—start a baking blog!

I have no expectations for this baking blog beyond having fun and sharing a slice of my life with friends, family, and maybe even some new acquaintances.

Recently, I picked up my entire life and moved to a new country. Yes, that's right—a new country, where I am learning a new language, adapting to a new culture, and, most excitingly, exploring a new cuisine.

Having lived in the US my whole life, I always had this far-off fantasy of moving to Europe, quitting my job, and becoming a pastry chef.

Well, here I am, in the vibrant city of Milan, Italy, blogging about all the delicious food I make and enjoy

Dreams, I guess, do come true? But not always in the way you originally envisioned. My fiancé, Patrick, has dreamed of attending grad school abroad since we met. This year, we committed to making that dream a reality, putting everything we have into this journey. So far, it has been an incredible adventure, filled with some crazy ups and downs. I'm excited to share these experiences here with you.

I’ll be posting new recipes, food experiences, and travel stories on my baking blog. Please follow along if you'd like; it would mean the world to me!

Stay tuned for more posts! Food reviews, travel inspiration, delicious recipes, insights into life in Italy, and much more!

As always, feel free to drop me a note if there's anything in particular you’d like me to bake, eat, or talk about because I love to yap.

Bye, babes!
